Arsenal announce Mkhitaryan departure

by Koolkola

Armenian playmaker Henrik Mkhitaryan has finally left the club on a permanent basis. He has been on loan at As Roma since the start of last season, where he looks like has found his feet again.

In a statement released on the club website announcing his departure, it read;

“Mcki leaves us following his season-long loan in Italy. We have agreed to terminate his contract with us by mutual consent to allow him to join Roma in a permanent move.”

Arsenal’s mutual termination of his contract means the club has freed up £180k per week in wage bill. This will go a long way in helping us bring in our targets as the club can now accommodate new players on the wagebill.

He never truly found his feet at the club after moving from Manchester United in a swap deal that involved Alexis moving the other way. The 31 year old scored just 9 goals for us, as he never truly found his feet.

His brightest moment in an Arsenal jersey was his debut for the club against Everton, he delivered four assists in that match.

There are rumours linking the club to Aouar of Lyon, while the club has brought in Willian from Chelsea. The club is doing all it can to adequately replace the lack of creativity in the team.

The midfielder also confirmed his departure in a tweet.

“Now the preparation begins with my new challenge & my 2nd year adventure in @SerieA_EN .
I love the city of #Roma , I love this club and I count the fans in my heart. I will give all of my effort in helping us achieve our goals! #dajeroma @OfficialASRoma #micki #mkhitaryan” – Henrik Mkhitaryan

We wish Henrik Mhkitaryan best of luck at Roma.
