Today we feature an amazing Arsenal fan and young Nigerian on our Fan zone page. For someone who is very vocal on social media about social and political change in his country, Yinka cuts a different personality when you meet him physically. Calm and more willing to listen than talk.
His reach on social media spans from political to Arsenal to personal finance to biblical and even sexuality. You would struggle to find a more well-rounded individual. He writes regularly on personal finances and you can find his posts here http://www.blog.riby.com.ng/ and you can read his comparism of EPL clubs and Nigerian Banks here : http://canoncrested.com/of-clubs-managers-and-our-nigerian-banks/

FANZONE WITH YINKA OGUNNUBI
- When did you start supporting the club?
[Yinka] 1999 to be exact. The year Kanu Nwankwo Joined the Club
- What attracted you to the club?
[Yinka] The Crest…The Brand…The Philosophy There is Prestige and Pride written all over it.
- Who is your favourite all time Arsenal player?
[Yinka] Wow! There are many contenders. But my vote will go for the Igwe himself – Thierry Henry
- Who is your current favourite player in the team?
[Yinka] Ramsey. I like his work-rate. His tenacity and his versatility
- Your worst Arsenal signing?
[Yinka] Nicklas Bendtner. I have never seen a player being so proud of doing absolutely nothing.
- If you could sign one player to join Arsenal who would it be? (_no Messi or Ronaldo)_
[Yinka] Vincent Kompany – Per is good, but I feel his lack of pace and bossing the defence lets him down a bit. An enforcer like Kompany partnering with a tactical Laurent Koslcielny will give our defense much needed steel.
- If you had one ticket to watch Arsenal against any other team which team would you pick?
[Yinka] Tottenham Hotspurs – Just to experience the atmosphere at the Emirates while beating our most bitter rivals.
- Your all time worst Arsenal game?
[Yinka] Oh dear! That would have to be the 8 -2 defeat to Man U at Old Trafford in July of 2013. It was probably the lowest point in my life.
- Your all-time favourite Arsenal game?
[Yinka] Gosh! There are so many but I think I would have to go for the draw against Tottenham in April of 2004 that crowned the Gunners as the League Champions in a season they had gone unbeaten. Winning the title in White Hart Lane added to what made this game special.
- Which new signing are you most excited by?
[Yinka] Well so far we’ve only signed Cech and I am convinced we’ve signed a world class goal keeper despite the terrible display on Sunday against West Ham.
- Your most memorable Arsenal goal?
[Yinka] I will go for Ramsey’s goal against Hull at the FA Cup Final in Wembly that won us the FA Cup. Remember that Arsenal had gone 9 years without a trophy and that goal basically broke the Jinx and opened the flood-gate of three trophies that have followed after. So that would be my most memorable.
- Do you prefer individual goals or team worked goals?
[Yinka] My Preference is always for team goals. Which is why one of my favorite goals is that of Jack Wilshere’s finish of a series of one-twos from the Gunners demonstrates why team goals are always the favorite
- If you could relegate one Premier League team who would it be?
[Yinka] If I was in England, I would have gone for Tottenham. But given that I am here in Nigeria, the obvious choice would be Chelsea.
- If you were on the Titanic that also had Arsenal players on it, and you had access to take just one Arsenal player with on the last available life boat with you would you pick and why?
[Yinka] Right now, he would be Sanchez. This is one dude that never ceases to amaze me. Last year and coming back from a successful World cup year we saw how long it took Ozil and Per to get back in the team. Sanchez who on the back of a successful Cope America had been given leave and some time to ease his return to the team has just simply refused to accept such rubbish. He is the man I want to have in my boat any time any day.
- In one word, how would you describe your relationship with Arsenal.
[Yinka] Complicated!
That is a wrap.
