Arteta gives encouraging update on Auba

by Koolkola

Mikel Arteta has given an update on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, revealing that the striker is showing positive signs. However, the striker will miss out on tomorrow’s Carabao Cup quarter-final with Manchester City.

The captain picked up a calf problem in training on Friday and missed out on the loss to Everton at Goodison Park.

We are yet to know how long he will be out, but the manager sounded positive in his latest update.

“Auba is feeling much better and he was more positive yesterday than in the previous two days,” reported Arteta on Monday morning.

“He will have another scan in the next few days and we will see how quickly we can get him back in the team.

“But we know how important he is for us and he feels that responsibility and he is trying his best to be back fit as quickly as possible. For the rest, I don’t think we’re going to have any news today before training.”

We play Chelsea on boxing day. We hope he will be fit before the match.
