David Luiz out of Europa League clash, might miss Old Trafford trip

David Luiz has bags of experience as an anchorman in midfield

After sustaining a second half injury against Leicester, David Luiz is poised to spend some time on the sidelines.

He is set to miss the Dundalk game, and is a big doubt for the trip to Old Trafford.

He joins Pablo Mari, Rob Holding and Callum Chambers on that growing injury list of central defenders.

Shkodran Mustafi is back in the team after his injury spell, but Mikel Arteta will conscious of playing Gabriel in the Europa League clash as we have the trip to Old Trafford.

This means we might likely see a make shift CB paternership in the Europa League.

“We try to go game by game,” said the Spaniard, “but obviously in the last ten days we’ve had a lot of issues at the back with the central defenders.

“We have to be cautious that we manage that position very carefully, because if we lose another one then in big trouble.

“So, of course we have to keep an eye on how we’re going to manage the squad in the next two or three games.”

Willian Saliba is also not an option, as the club failed to register him in the Europa League.
