Fulham Vs Arsenal – Redemption Day @ Craven Cottage

Judging by the reaction of the fans at the game against Villa at the Emirates last week, this is a game we have no option but pick maximum points. On the back of an amazing Champions league victory in Turkey at Midweek there is nothing that would make the fans feel better than a victory at the cottage today especially considering the big game on Monday between Chelsea and ManUtd where someone must drops points. Champions league qualification almost guaranteed, a nice early victory in the bag and all the good news about signings would only do well for the fanbase. I feel we would definitely sign a player this week, then again we are running out of time and we would have to bring in the players now. Fulham has a special place in my heart as I got married when we played Fulham at the Emirates last season and following the game during my wedding party got me a lot of slack, sadly we drew the game as Mikel Arteta could not convert his last minute penalty, the away fixture had better memories thou as picked a hard fought one nil victory there with Giroud getting a sending off.

The Villa game left us with loads of physical damage as players kept going off injured. We were lucky to have Sagna back after such a terrible fall, Gibbs left with a cut on his head, Oxlade couldnt return and is currently out for close to 3months, Ramsey and Rosicky both had knocks which thank God they recovered from and Kos picked up a red card ruling him out of todays encounter. Sagna would stand in his place alongside BFG and judging by his performances in that position in preseason and in Turkey we should be fine. The rest of the team picks itself as we are thin all around anyways. Hopefully some signings should come in this week.

New signings have had an effect at the cottage and some of them should start against us today. Fulham have brought in Darren Bent, Adel Taarabt from QPR and Scott Parker from Spurs during this window. Fulham will be without goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg (shoulder) and Kieran Richardson (hamstring), who both were injured at the Stadium of Light, but Alexander Kacaniklic has a chance of returning from a hamstring problem. David Stockdale is likely to deputise in goal for Martin Jol’s side after coming off the bench last week.

I predict a close game with Arsenal running away with a 2-1 vitory. My prediction last week was the complete reverse of the result , a 3-1 loss. Hopefully this week I should be spot on.
