We started the season in a marvelous note, as we blew newly promoted Fulham away at craven cottage.
Alexander Lacazette got our first goal, which doubled as 2020/2021 first PL goal of the season. New signing, Gabriel, added the second from a Willian corner. Before captain Fantastic, Aubameyang, curled in an Henry-esque goal to make it three.
There were several positive points to be taken from our first game of the season, and Mikel Arteta will be impressed by this performance.
Granit Xhaka and Mo Elneny impressed in midfield, as they dictated play any provided adequate cover for the defence.
Leno started in goal, as he took back his number one spot. He got an early scare after a breakdown of in communication with Gabriel, but he looked solid from that point with no mistake.
The first half ended one nil after Lacazette got his goal from a Willian rebound. Willian went on to hit the bar with a freekick before the first half ended.
We stepped up in the second half and got rewarded as Willian corner was headed in by Gabriel. The goal capped off a wonderful debut for the Brazilian.
Aubameyang got off the mark with his first goal of the PL season. It was the best goal of the day, as he curled in a beauty.
Willian became the first player to assist two goals on his Premier League debut for Arsenal since Ray Parlour in August 1992 against Liverpool.
