Monaco talking to Joe Willock

by Koolkola

According to RMC Sport reports, Monaco have made contact with Joe Willock about a possible move ahead of the new season.

It’s not clear at this point whether the Ligue 1 side wants the 21-year-old on loan for the season or permanent transfer.

However, it’s not a bad option for the Gunners to have another club rival Newcastle United in the race for his signature. The Magpies have openly expressed their interest in signing the midfielder following his successful six-month loan spell earlier this year.

Willock is under contract at the Emirates for two more seasons and there have been whispers we could offer him a new deal.

Presumably, we’ll have to watch the mood of the player’s camp because if a new deal proves complicated it might not be a bad thing to sell him now while his star is in the ascendancy.

Both of Joe’s brothers have spent time abroad. The Gunners lost Chris to Benfica in 2017 while Matty, once of Manchester United, spent a year in Holland at two clubs in Utrecht.
