Mesut Ozil has left the club after 7 and half years at the club. The German playmaker agreed with the club to terminate his contract which had 6 months left.
He joins Turkish giants, Fernabache. A club he supported from his childhood.
Since joining from Real Madrid in September 2013, Ozil has made 254 appearances for the club, scoring 44 goals and making 77 assists.
He was part of the team for the FA Cup final wins in 2014, 2015, and 2017 – but missed out on the 2020 final having been left out of the squad following lockdown.
His time at the club didn’t end as well as expected, giving the frenzy that came with his signing in 2013.
We wish him the best of luck to him in the next chapter of his career in the Turkish Super Lig.
