It’s not a Fela Anikulapo Kuti post, if you don’t know what that is Google is your friend. I am referring to Sorrow because that’s what I feel as an Arsenal fan due to the current state of our clubs affairs, Tears because it’s the North London Derby (NLD) and that’s what I hope we bring to all the corny faced Harry Redknapp inherited Twitching Sp*rs fans and Blood because that is what we must spill on the pitch come Sunday evening to prove that we are still a force to be reckoned with in this campaign.
Everyone has a neighbor like Spurs, folks whose sole purpose in life is to look better than you and piss you off while doing it. They appear really friendly, smiling at every other family while they drive around the neighborhood pretending to be happy. To make matters worse, after your kids just floored them silly at the neighborhood essay competition last year now they have gone and sent all their children to the posh schools for a new school year and everyone now expects them to come back at the end of the session, take the essay this year again and your kids won’t be near any form of competition. Okay, I have really got to stop my analogy here before the real family I am referring to read this post and know its them.
In essence, spurs have had an excellent summer. Signed a plethora of players, done everything we thought Arsenal would do. They are the new media darlings! Nothing they do is ever reported wrong? Holding on to their best player who we all know wants to leave, claiming injury as the reason he hasn’t being fielded , keeping him till the last possible transfer day just to piss Real Madrid off and stop them from selling to us as reported by Sky Sports is even reported positively. Business Brinksmanship is a term I saw on a sports news blog describing their protracted Bale transfer business. Yea I might be blinded by hate but am not going to lie about it, the NLD is not a day I will choose to highlight everything wrong with my club. Its derby day and as fans we have one duty and that is to make the EMIRATES , our home ground as unwelcoming as possible for every human being that wears a Spurs shirt on that day. Never been to a NLD, actually never been to the Emirates and my hatred for Spurs initially was inherited. Arsenal fans are supposed to hate Spurs but years have gone by, the world has become smaller , HARRY Redknapp has coached them and now I can genuinely feel why I should dislike everything about the noisy fellas down the road.
Let me attempt to do a match preview.
Arsenal.
On the back of 3 straight victories some confidence has returned to the squad. Some semblance of our passing game seems to be back as evidenced in the game against Fulham and Fenerbahce. Spurs however will provide tougher opposition. Sad news is that Podolski has been ruled out by a grade 3 hamstring for close to 10weeks, what a shame for a player whose swag just returned. On the bright side Ramsey (Messi in the making) and Jack are both passed fit for this one. Kos The Boss returns to the Defence and EXCELLENT Sagna goes to his natural right position. (Everytime I see Sagna I remember his beautiful wife, considering I am married, that has to be a terrible thing)…anyways back to footballing things. Gibbs should fill in his position. The rest of the team picks itself and we expect that Santi would move to the left side of the attack to replace Podolski. This I just did right here is Arsenals biggest problem, I have no football coaching badge I can pick the Arsenal team that would start tomorrow to near perfection and plan against them. Isn’t the job a lot easier for experienced Premier league managers? Why Wenger won’t sign quality players that would make an opposition manager have some pre game headache beats me.
Spurs.
Is there need to say more about this club aside the fact that whatever team they put out there in the eyes of many are better than us by miles? Truth however is Spurs have played recently promoted Cardiff and one eye on the Europa Match Swansea and scored only two goals, both from the penalty spot. They are yet to concede and giving them a beating at our ground would be just fine. Wenger thinks their signing of a lot of players is risky.
“I don’t know, they tried very hard of course, that’s normal,” Wenger said. “But in our job there is a technical risk when you buy more than three players because you unbalance a little bit the stability of your squad. I know that in England it’s very well seen [to buy players], but it’s always difficult when you bring so many players in to predict how well they will do.
I think he should just focus on his team
Prediction
Tasty affairs between both teams almost every season and recent spurs signings need to be given a baptism of the NLD hence am going for a 5-2 VICTORY FOR ARSENAL!!!
