West Brom vs Arsenal Preview :

Hello Friends, Hope you all are great cos I am, who wouldn’t be especially with the form The Arsenal is showing. THE ARSENAL! , I always love it when our club name is pronounced that way, you know that’s  our full name yea and we are the only premier league club with THE in front of our name. So how bout we all call it that way, to get it right you have to stick your tongue slightly between your teeth when you say the ‘THE’ and try to pronounce with some force….here you go!!! THE ARSENAL!!!!  Lovely eh!!

Moving on from elocution lessons, we travel to West Brom again after our penalty shootout victory in the Capital One cup, this time we play in the league so we don’t expect to see our future stars like Hayden, Miyachi , Eisfeld or our prodigal son Niklas Bendtner start this game. Its good times at the Emirates we have a chance today to break our club record number of away wins if we win today. Take a few seconds to let that sink in will you?  This is something even our famous invincible team did not achieve, 9 straight away victories!!! Now that’s something and hopefully we would come through.

All the headline from the press conference was about Wilshere and the smoking incident and after his tweet yesterday I believe the club has put that to rest. Mertesacker, the club tax collector and punishment enforcer should have set Wilshere straight by now. Have you tried to imagine Per looking down on Wilshere? That has to be some sight.

This game comes on the back of a spectacular victory in the champions league were Arsenal showed extreme class to kill off Napoli in the first half and some very composed performance in the second to keep Napoli out. I really loved the Flamini, Arteta combination in the middle and I think this should be our default setting whenever we play a top top team.

West brom will provide a stiffer test today than when we played them in the Cup as players like Sessegnon should be up for this one. We have Rosicky back from injury and the manager would needs to decide if he gives him a rest after midday duties and bring on the impressive Serge Gnabry.  We have Sagna out for about 3 weeks so Corporal Jenks will be back in his place and should do a good job down that right side.

Whoever starts in defensive midfield role would have to be mindful of Sessegnon and Berahino whose trickery and movement on and off almost sent Rio Ferdinand to retirement.  Flamini seems to be ahead of Arteta now so it’s his duty. The rest of the team picks itself, Ozil, Ramsey and Giroud should continue on the back of a fine display against Napoli and BFG and KOS are really due a clean sheet in the league don’t you think ?

Player to Watch : Mesut Ozil

Steve Clarke is doing an amazing job with this team, they lost out on resigning Lukaku and sold Nigerian Odemwingie to Cardiff but he got in players into the team who he knew would do a job for him. Anichebe, Sessegnon are players that can trouble any defence, they might not have a lot of goals between them but they sure will trouble you for 90mins and make room for Amalfitano and Shane Long to score .

Berahino is one for the future, scored a hat-trick on his full debut against NewPort County in the Capital One cup, before netting twice for the England U-21 , scored against Arsenal in the Capital One and a lovely goal against ManUtd last week. Now this is a player everyone should be looking at and seeing all the hype on twitter by United fans yesterday as Januzai got a brace was a tinge annoying. It’s no wonder Steve Clarke is mad at his agent for leaking Siado Berahino’s wages last week. The boy is on 850pounds a week and is set to be rewarded with an improved offer. Hei Mr. Clarke, isn’t an agents duty to look after the best interest of his player eh?

Clarke said: “We’re fortunate with Saido. He was terrific last week and deserves all the plaudits he gets. Our job is to keep his feet on the ground. “Obviously, his agent has been busy putting things out in the open but now is the time for everyone to remain calm and improve Saido as a player. He’s in a great place and we want him to stay that way. Our job is to keep him doing what he does best and that is to play football to a very good level

Player to Watch: Saido Berahino

So it should be a good game today at the Hawthorns, the players have the luxury of knowing the results of all the other games and would know they have to do a job to remain top of the pile this weekend. That’s all the motivation they need. Until then have a great day Gooners!!!
