That’s my all time favourite line from a movie from one of my all time favourite movies, The Devil’s Advocate, the quote was from legendary actor Al Pacino (John Milton), what an awesome guy, what an awesome movie, one of those movies if you haven’t watched on earth before you die you can be sent straight to hell for when you get to the pearly gates.

This post isn’t about the movie, but that was the quote that came straight to mind when I was watching ‘The Fanzone’ after the run of Saturday games. One of the presenters Leroy Rosenior in response to a tweet about his previous stance at the beginning of the season that Arsenal are no title contenders said ‘I still think they aint with no apologies, what have they done to prove otherwise, look at the teams they have played, let them win some real games and then we will see’ .

Honestly??  My first reaction was anger and rage, how dare he! I am sick of all these pundits ignoring what we are doing, if it were United and Moyes going on these runs everyone would be going on about how Moyes is awesome and how United are an awesome club to have picked a manager that has continued a winning tradition but no its Arsenal so they can talk to us with disrespect, then that Quote from The Devil’s Advocate hit me again..It’s ok. Ignore us, don’t rate us, let us be the foster child, we will take the walkway, let Chelsea take the train or City fly Etihad , we will be keep ourselves small. Innocuous. Be the little guy. You know, the nerd… the leper… shit-kickin’ surfer, they won’t see us coming until we hit them and they are so far behind they can’t recover.

So let’s tow their line and say we have had an easier set of fixtures, lets ignore the fact that we beat Spurs, the same Spurs the media wouldn’t let us rest peacefully about how great they were and were falling over themselves saying the tide in North London had changed, lets ignore the fact that we beat Napoli on the back of them soundly defeating Ac Milan and were having an amazing run in their league, lets ignore the fact we beat Swansea, a team that knocked Chelsea out of the Carling Cup last season and also on the back of their amazing win in the Europa Cup against Valencia in Spain, and also lets ignore the fact that we drew West Brom, a team that hasn’t lost in five matches now, matches which include a victory at Old Trafford, the home of preferred Title Contenders ? lets Ignore all that and take a look at the next set of Chelsea games after they play City, Newcastle (A), West Brom (H), West Ham (A), Southampton (H), Sunderland (A) now, wouldn’t Chelsea be expected to win all that ? That is a massive 15points there. Is someone telling me they wouldn’t be considered a team in title winning form if they win all five? Oh, my bad, those games come near the middle of the season rather than at the beginning right?

Everyone goes on about how you can lose the league in November but you can’t win it then, we are doing our job now, beating everyone who is put in front of us, playing some amazing football, scoring beautiful goals and showing title winning character especially considering our injuries, don’t we get some respect? So you won’t give it to us, never mind we are going to earn it. Dortmund twice, Liverpool and United are coming our way in a few weeks. I say, bring them on, we aren’t scared , still don’t believe? Don’t take my word for it, ask Norwich. YOU ALL HAVE BEEN 4-ONED!!!
